Volunteering with Home-Start is a great opportunity to gain skills and experience in dealing with families and children and to do something rewarding through helping local families. If you have a couple of hours spare a week to support a family with young children please contact us.
Home-Start Manchester South is short of volunteers for our next course of preparation for new volunteers. The next course will run on Tuesdays from Tuesday 31st January 9.30-2.30 for 6 weeks (excluding half term week) at The Place, Platt Lane, Fallowfield.
Once trained our volunteers provide emotional and practical support to families through weekly home visits. Families are frequently isolated, with low self-esteem and confidence and may be struggling to cope for a variety of reasons. Full training and support is given and expenses paid.
